Graphics functions in MuPAD let you easily create 2-D and 3-D graphics and animations with high quality output and advanced interactive manipulation capabilities. To help you fine-tune a plot, MuPAD provides an object browser that lets you inspect and analyze the tree structure of graphical scenes interactively, giving easy access to all parts of the plot with a mouse-click. After selecting an object, all plot attributes associated with the object — such as color, line width, annotations, and so on become visible. You can select the attributes and change their values interactively.

The features of the renderer are fully supported by the plot library. It provides a list of graphical primitives — such as points, lines, polygons — that you can use to build up highly complex graphical scenes. The primitives also include graphical objects that are not at all “primitive,” but come with advanced algorithms and built-in intelligence. Examples are function graphs in 2-D and 3-D (with automatic clipping for singular functions), implicit plots in 2-D and 3-D, vector field plots, and graphical solutions of ordinary differential equations in 2-D and 3-D.
