As part of my research, I need to simulate a three-phase transformer with three windings, which has the vector group YNd5yn6. For the simulation, I am using the Simulink Simscape (Specialized Power Systems) model: Three-Phase Transformer (Three Windings). On the Matlab help page, there are connection diagrams available for various vector groups, but the YNyn6 vector group is missing, while YNd5 is listed. Is there a simple way to obtain the vector group YNyn6 (through simple phase shifting)?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,

Hi Torben,
The three-phase three-winding transformer available in the Specialized Power Systems (SPS) library can implement the Yy0 connection between the primary and tertiary winding. However, the phase shift of 180 degree that the number “6” denotes cannot be achieved using the block parameters available.
A possible workaround for this is to use the three-phase three-winding transformer available in the following example model:
The model uses a five-limb non-ideal three-phase three-winding transformer in Simscape. The ends of every winding in the transformer are available for use. This allows the tertiary winding connections to be made out of phase to the primary according to the standards available in the International Standard IEC 60076-1 [1].
You can refer to the model “transformer.slx” attached to this answer where the proper connections have been made to implement the YNd5yn6 configuration. The block must be used in a Simscape Electrical network and not using SPS blocks.
I hope this answers your query.
