Teaching Computation and Quantitative Thinking with MATLAB
This video showcases web resources and learning opportunities for educators in science disciplines interested in teaching computational thinking. Many of these resources were created by faculty participating in live workshops where they shared strategies for teaching quantitative thinking. Their findings—both teaching tips and coding tools—are published as online resources for educators in science and STEM. Topics include self-efficacy for computation, designing optimal project teams, student assessment approaches, and project-based learning.
This video will guide you through these resources to help you find, select, and use them when designing your science-related curricula for courses in geoscience, physics, biology, and more.
It also covers additional tools for teaching with MATLAB®, including:
- MATLAB Live Editor: Use code-based narratives to tell a story and show results
- MATLAB Online™: Access MATLAB through your web browser
- MATLAB Onramp and Deep Learning Onramp: Launch free online, self-paced courses
- MATLAB Grader: Grade MATLAB homework automatically and create new homework sets
- MATLAB App Designer: Build apps using MATLAB
- What's New in MATLAB?: See new features from biannual releases
- MATLAB Central™: Participate in a MATLAB community for sharing code and expertise
