Mitchell was born in Banjarmasin, Indonesia, in 1988. He received his B.Eng in electrical engineering in Petra Christian University, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, in 2009. He received his Master of Engineering Studies in computer control engineering in University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Ultimo, New South Wales (NSW), Australia, in 2011. He started his Ph.D. studies in UTS in Autumn 2011 with UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) in Centre for Health Technologies research strength under Dr. Steven W. Su, Prof. Hung T. Nguyen and Dr. Bruce D. Moulton. His current research is on smart integrated monitoring and evaluation system for the elderly community. His research interests include sensors, health technologies, signal processing, image processing, nonlinear optimization, data clustering, and computational intelligence.
