I am a faculty member at the Department of Geosciences, University of Arizona.

I am a structural engineer and CEO of QUAKELOGIC. I earned my B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering and M.Sc. degree in Engineering Seismology from the Middle East Technical University. My second M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering is from the Bosporus (Bogazici) University in Turkey. My doctorate degree in Structural Engineering (major) and in Geotechnical Engineering (minor) is from the University of California, Davis. My postdoctoral studies were at the University of California, Berkeley. Been programming computers since I first was able to buy a Sinclair 88 at K-Mart back in the 80's. I hooked it up to the VHS on my TV and programmed in built-in Basic. Wow, 8 kilohertz of blazing speed!

Moustafa Magdi Ismail received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Minia University, EL-Minya, Egypt, in 2011 and 2016, respectively; and his Ph.D. degree from the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Electromagnetic Engineering and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2021. From 2021, he became an Assistant Professor at the Minia University. He serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions journals, where he has been selected as one of the Top Reviewers of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology in 2020.
