Matlab Interface is either using a bad font or weird language

What on earth is wrong with my Matlab?

Please mention any details: Is this the state directly after the installation? Did you change something before this was wchanged? Which language do you expect instead? Which operating system are you using?

To clarify this is immediately after installation; I've uninstalled and reinstalled and no chage. I'm expecting English on Windows 10.

I had the exact same problem. By exact I mean the image you've shared 100% matches with my problem. I got it solved fortunately.

My system is Win 11 & Matlab version is R2022B - Trial.

I followed this link ( https://thegeekpage.com/fix-corrupted-fonts-on-windows-10 ) and executed method #4 i.e. creating a .reg file. It's completely safe, I've messed around with it by changing my system fonts (and it was successful) but that's exactly the problem for MATLAB in my case.

It works! Although I used the .reg file to change the windows default font. Now I have to go back.

Thank you! I actually changed my system font a long while ago and never had any problems with that, so I didn't even consider that it might be that. (I used Winaero Twaeker and just reset my system font to default there)

Maybe the preferences of Matlab become corrupted. Try this be renaming the corresponding folder. This should be in your user folder, e.g. 'C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MathWorks\MATLAB\R2021a', assuming you are using a Windows PC.

This is off of a brand new installation and I've followed the changing display language directions and nothing changed. I'm really uncertain what is going on.
