Please help, I am trying to run a matlab toolbox in windows. Annoying the toolbox is only available for matlab for windows and every time I try to run it it gives me the following errors...
"Could not find version 9.8 of matlab runtime. Attemptint to load clcmcrrt9_8dll..."
I have gone into my environmental path variables and changed to point to the new version of matlab but I am still getting this error. It's super frusting.
Can someone please help me understand what is going wrong here. I did previously install anaconda and am wondering if this is messing with someone?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Can you provide few additional information like -
  1. What current version of Matlab you are using? You may use the command "ver".
  2. What was the previous version of Matlab? And are they co-existing? Or was that uninstalled?
  3. What specific toolbox that you are using?
Regards,
Zeeshaan

Hi,
Thank you for the help.
I am using version 2021a (9.10.0.1649659), we were just using the previous version 2020
I uninstalled the previous version and reinstalled the new one and am still having this issue? Also updated the path in my environmental and user variables.
The toolbox is an functional neuroimaging toolbox that is supplied by a vendor. We have had other people in the department able to load this locally on their windows matlab but for someone reason I keep getting this error on my machine.

Hi Jennifer,
Ideally when upgrading to newer version, the correct sequence should look like this -
  1. Uninstall older version following the steps here which also includes optionally to deactivate your license: https://www.mathworks.com/help/install/ug/uninstall-mathworks-products.html
  2. Restart your system.
  3. Install the newer version.
  4. And you don't have to manually correct the environment variable path.
For some reasons if things are broken between your previous install and new install, I would suggest you to:
  1. Try removing the current install using this link: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/131519-how-do-i-perform-a-clean-installation-of-matlab-on-a-windows-system
  2. Restart your system.
  3. Check there should not be any environment variables left. If any, then remove them.
  4. Perform the standard installation.
Hope this helps!
