Is first or second generation of simmechanics better for my project?

Hi, I want to simulate a mechanical walking machine running down a slope which is only kept in motion by potential energy. Like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpeoOYQdPZM
I am totally new to Simmechanics and just try to get into it. I want to find out wheter I should use the blocks of first generation or the ones of second generation.
It would be great if someone could explain what would be more suitable for my project and why!
Thank you! Kind regards

We strongly recommend that you use the second generation libraries Simscape Multibody (formerly SimMechanics). The second generation libraries and simulation technology are far more advanced than the first generation. The most obvious advantages are in the 3D animation of simulation results, where you can review an animation without rerunning the simulation (in First Generation, you can only see the animation while the simulation is running).
