Simscape and Simulink connections

I'm using Matlab R2019B and trying to combined some simulink blocks with simscape. I'm having a problem connecting the simscape models to each other and in some cases even with the PS-Simulink/Simulink-PS blocks. In particular I can't connect the outputs of a Three-Phase Rectifier with the inputs of a Three-Phase Inverter block. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi, The PS-Simulink/Simulink-PS block is used to connect a physical signal to simulink ouput signal or vice versa, this cannot be used to connect two different simscape components. Try using the Average-Value Rectifier (Three-Phase) and Average-Value Inverter (Three-Phase) for your work you can connect these two directly. Refer the below links to know more about these blocks

Apologies, I am clear on the use of the PS-Simulink/Simulink-PS blocks. I am confused why I can't, for example, connect the output of a three-phase rectifier (+/- DC lines) directly to the three-phase inverter's inputs (+/- DC lines).

Update: I can connect a PMIO port to the + and - ports on the inverter block, but if I do so I cannot also connect that wire to any of the PS math blocks (PS add, subtract, PS math....). If, however, I break the connection to the inverter block I can connect the PMIO output to the PS math block and the line changes color. I feel like I'm missing some core concept in using simscape, but can't find what in the documentation. Does this make any sense at all?
