Day count basis name to number converter

I'm trying to develop an app related to pricing of financial instruments. As part of it the input interest rates need to be provided and the use will be able to select day count convention for the rates.

Obviously, I like to show users the textual names, but I need to use their numbers as the arguments within the code. I wonder if there is a function which converts numbers to names and back. I guess, I'm not the only one who came to this situation. Would be strange if everyone just develops a new version of this function.
