how do i pass variables from one gui to another?

I have a GUI that points out an identification number.I want to send this number to another GUI for further processing based on that number. I'm stuck . please help.

We tried that method. But it is not passing the value. The value which we intent to pass is generated once a push button is pressed followed by few calculations.
