Adding string to pop up menu for GUI while active

Hello,

I am trying to provide the user of my GUI the option to add a new "category" to a list. I give them "other..." as an option. I would like my code to then allow them to add a new category when they choose other. However, I would like "other" to remain the last item on the list.
