Count FLOPs for built-in MATLAB functions

I am trying to analyze the complexity of some Machine Learning algorithms, for example a basic Feedforward Neural Network. I use in this case the code provided by the Neural Net Pattern Recognition app. It would be of great interest to not measure runtime only, but also count the number of FLOPs when changing a network structure. User defined functions do not seem reasonable to use with built-in MATLAB functions, thus I wonder if it is possible in general to count the floating point operations in this case. Hi Dorin,

Currently, there is no function to calculate FLOPs.

I have brought this issue to the notice of our developers. They may investigate the matter further.
