EV REFERENCE APPLICATION REASON FOR COUPLING AND DISCHARGE DYNAMICS

I was of the idea it should be enough to directly connec the current and torque ports. But is there any specific reason to introduce these block?

A couple of reasons exist for these transfer functions.

1. Functionally they are used to break algebraic loops. See https://www.mathworks.com/help/simulink/ug/algebraic-loops.html for information.
2. Physically they represent the lag that exists within the electrical system as well as motor coupling.
