Limit rate of change

I wanted to limit the rate of change of a signal and I used 'Rate Limiter' block from Simulink library. Under the help it was given that this block supports all data types of Simulink except boolean. However, when I used it in my model, which has discrete sample time, it shows error that it is expecting continuous time signals even when I set the sample time mode to 'inherited'. Is there some other way that this block should be used or does it not support discrete sampling?
