XML object from database query

Hi:

I need to be able to parse out an XML object from a database (DB2), add some content, and return it to the same database. Are there any tools out there to assist with this?

Right now, all I get from the database is Java object of the class com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.oe. Does anybody know how I can parse out its content?
