Level 5 MAT-file created from different software

I have an app which creates .mat file with some data. The documentation for the file looks great but the problem is that when I want to open the file in the MATLAB it just tells me that the file might be corrupt.

I have created a small and simple file according to the docuemntation with four miSINGLE numbers. Could anyone please tell me, where is the problem?
