How to insert markdown formatted instructions into AppDesigner?

I'd like to insert my README.md instructions file into a textbox or panel within my app. I have only found documentation about publishing markup, and I'm not sure if it's possible to convert it. Here's my code.

txt = "";
while ~feof( fid )
    txt = vertcat( txt, fgetl( fid ) );
end
fclose( fid );
app.TextArea.set( 'Value', txt );

There is no interpreter for this ui control so the text just pastes as is.

The potential option you have is to use uihtml (>= R2019b) and a thrid party js library.
