how to make the program execute two other programs depends on the sensor scanning

I have robot act depending on the sensor scaning.
i want the sensor scan and if there is obstacle infront it, increase it hight and make another scanning. if there is no obstacle infront of it step forward. but if there is obstacle, execute the next step in the program
