To use "controlchart" in the app designer and display the plot inside the app you can use the "parent" property of "controlchart".

In the App designer, drag an UIAxes object to app in design view. Implement a startup function using the functions option in Code view. Use the "controlchart" function with the 'Parent' property set to the UIAxes in the app to plot the chart in the App itself.

function startupFcn(app)
    load parts.mat;
    stats = controlchart(runout,ChartType="xbar", parent=app.UIAxes);
end
