Segmentation Overlapping Bone of shoulder X-ray image

Hello,

I'm a student who is studying about image processing.

I have bone of shoulder x-ray image. I have segmented the original image (figure 1) to image segmentation (figure 2) as shown below by image segmenter matlab app.But I want segment like it automatically.

is there anyone can help me to segment the Acromion bone only without background and without the overlapping bone automatically?

Hi Nurul,

Recently, there are many different image processing algorithms are developed for medical segmentation. I can suggest you a few for your acromion bone segmentation, although I haven’t tried them on my own, but I highly recommend you to at least go through all of them and see which one can best suits you. The algorithm like Region based segmentation which includes WaterShed algorithm, Graph based approach. There is some advanced method as well: Deformable models which include Level Set algorithm and active contour segmentation.

Try looking at this algorithm and see if that can be applied on your case or not. Also let me know if you find something interesting.
