Does the license server need to be updated for the B release?

We have a floating network license for MATLAB. Currently, it's running the license server for R2019A.
When R2019B is released, do I need to update the server software to R2019B, or will the R2019A server be sufficient?
Note that I'm not asking if I need a new license file; I'm asking about if MLM.exe, lmgrd.exe and friends.

It might. The required license manager version does change over time, but it does not change every release, just most releases.

It depends on the MATLAB release version one is using. Generally License files are downward compatible not upward. So, a License file 19a user wants to use 19b will not work
