I have started using the vehicle dynamics blockset.I am having trouble understanding how the Reference Applications work. I have gone through the tutorials and running the examples makes sense to me. The trouble is when I begin to make my own diagram there are a number of values, scripts and dependancies that are not being initialized. In the examples, I start out by entering 'vdynblksIncreasingSteeringStart' in the command window and that initializes the project file. My question is, how do I set this up for my own projects? If I heavily modify one of the existing example diagrams and save it as something else, does it need to be saved in the same folder as the original? The online documenttion states that you can create your own versions of these reference applications, but I have not been able to identify a resource that exaplained how this is done. This is a link to the Vehicle Dynamics Blockset Documentation:
Any insight would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Daniel,
When you run commands like:
vdynblksIncreasingSteeringStart
this tells MATLAB to create a new copy of the project. By default, this is stored in your "MATLAB Projects" directory. You can move this folder anywhere you want and make your modifications to that project. The "source" project is always within your MATLAB installation directory, so you don't have to worry about overwriting it. You can make as many new copies of the original reference application as you like, then customize them as needed.
Hope that helps,
Mike
