How do I fix this log in error when connected to a proxy server?

When I launch matlab, the log on screen shows this:

Failed to load URL https://login.mathworks.com/embedded-login/login.html?locale=en_US with error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED (-102).

Does anybody know how to get around this problem?
