M_map should not be that hard

Hi everyone!

So I saw this picture on m_map users guide and it is very simillar to something i want to create but there is no code for this picture.

Can you help me figure out how the code shoud look like for this picture?

I draw a worldmap with:

f=figure;

m_proj('miller','lat',[-77 77]);
m_coast('patch',[0.7 1 0.8],'edgecolor','k');
m_grid('backcolor',[0.2 0.65 1])

and now I want to draw this markers and to see them in legend. If I use just m_line for example:

m_line(longitude,latitude,'LineStyle','none','marker','o','markersize',5,'MarkerEdgeColor','none','MarkerFaceColor',[1 0 0]);

I would get markers but they won't be seen in legend because still just the data of land and ocean is seen in the legend. Maybe I sholud not use m_line but something else.
