How to insert neural network model as an objective function in pattern search

Dear All;

I built a neural network model and i want to use pattern search to determine the set of input that give the optimal output value (NN output) .

My objective function J is simply the output of NN model ,

in other words:

Y=sim(net, X);

J=Y ( I need to maximum output) or (Y=I/J) for minimum.

but the issue that i need the objective function as scalar value for pattern search algothim while J here is vector , how can we do recolve this issue
