Error using mcc. "Internal error: Failed to capture license information"

Same Linux machine, compiling same matlab program by MATLAB R2009a & R2012a with same license.dat pointing to the same license server.

For matlab2009a: Compiled successfully.

For matlab2012a:

>> mcc -m helloworld.m

Warning: No display specified.  You will not be able to display graphics on the screen.

Error using feature
Could not get feature list.  License server may be down.

Internal error: Failed to capture license information.

Error using mcc

Error executing mcc, return status = 1 (0x1).

>> license inuse

Does someone have any ideas on the problem?

I think it may be best to contact MathWorks Installation and Licensing Support regarding this issue.
