communication between Matlab gui and Arduino using ESP8266-01

HI, before this I'm using Bluetooth HC-05 to communicate between Matlab GUI and Arduino and I'm successfully done it. now, I'm using ESP8266-01 to communicate between Matlab GUI and Arduino. but, I don't know how to write the code. I already search, they said by using tcpip() command. However, I'm still confused how to call Arduino.
