Do I need a driver in order to control LakeShore's system using GPIB ?

I want to control the system (LakeShore model 625: superconductor power supply) using Matlab, so I wonder if a driver is needed since their is no driver provided for this system on the official website(only driver provided for Labview with NI's GPIB).
I am not fammilar with GPIB control, so any suggestion is appreciated.
