Simulink Setup Block for IMU initial configuration

Hello,
I am trying to configure an 9dof IMU sensor using simulink and ti launchpad over an I2C interface . What i want is to make a subsystem that has the configuration of the sensor and this block should be executed only once on initialization. How could i achieve this (i want to add this block to a custom library later on)? I tried using the simulink initialize function block, but was not able to handle my configuration because it has conditionally executed blocks with output and input ports. Thanks in advance!
