The Specified Module Could Not Be Found

Hello, I'm creating an app in appdesigner that calls the comm.BCHDecoder object and I get this error.

Error using BCHDecoder.setParameters
Unable to load matlab\R2017a\toolbox\comm\commutilities\commmex\mcomberlekamp.mexw64 
  [error: The specified module could not be found.]

I was getting this error last week, and I just reinstalled matlab and it seemed to fix the issue and it was working fine again. But now I'm getting this error again, does anyone have any idea why reinstalling matlab would temporarily fix the issue?
