matlab shifting code for discrete signals

how can i shift discrete signal in matlab spontaneously???? i really badly want to know that!!!pls help me out...it will be great if some one provide me general code or only say about the concept i can apply to shift signal in matlab??is there any specific function that i use!???

It is not possible to deliberately do something spontaneously. Perhaps you mean "randomly" rather than "spontaneously" ?
