Running a script within a Simulink model?

I want to run a script, NOT a function, from within a Simulink model. I've tried adding the script name to model Callbacks such as PreLoadFcn, PostLoadFcn, InitFcn; I've tried the Matlab function block and the Interpreted MATLAB Fcn block. I've tried creating a dummy function that calls the script I want to run. Nothing works. Can Simulink call a SCRIPT?
