Looks like your simira_OutputFcn function somehow got inserted into the main startup code that you're not supposed to edit. It should be after the "% - DO NOT EDIT" line and after simira_OpeningFcn. That's how GUIDE normally does it. So now I'm wondering if you even have a simira_OpeningFcn function at all.

You could get that error if you double-clicked on a .fig file to launch it. You need to launch the .m file instead.
