how to train, test and validate a set of images using neural network,and end up classifying them?

I am new i this area,so having issues figure out the ratio of images per step as well as it's exact purpose and how to run my code knowing that i have the extraction features code and normalization process already written,any examples or commented code links using neural network and more than 2 classes will be helpful
