are gui displays suppressed in batch jobs?

Does the batch command suppress the display of graphics, even when running in background on a desktop? Is there any way to prevent this behavior?

To prevent what? To prevent the output or to prevent the suppressing of the output? What do you want to achieve exactly?

It appears that graphics are not displayed when you run a function using batch. I would like to be able to display graphics while running a function in that mode. I presume this is not possiblegiven the implementation, but I thought I would ask.
