dividing an image in quadrants and find position of origin in different images

I have a ball which moves from one position to another. the problem i have is i have to divide the image into four quadrants taking the centroid as origin And Thanks in Advance.

Why centroid? Can't you go by mid point of image depending on it's dimensions?

I have to find to which quadrant respective to this one the centroid has shifted to in the next image.....
