How to editor windows to start from 1 again

Each time we create a new m file the default name will be say Untitled 2, which keeps on increasing(3, 4 ..) as we open new m file, even though we have saved/discarded closed previous ones. These are some ways to reset and start afresh. Is there any use for such numbering except we have unique names that we can save.
