I have memory clearing issues

Hi, since running with 2016b version of Matlab I encounter that clearing and pack work worse than in previous versions. Clearing has always been an issue with Matlab, but I have the impression that memory handling in this last release is much worse than in previous ones and that a carefull programming is no longer enough for solving them. I clear, I pack but still huge amounts of memory keep reserved for nothing. Anybody else enconuntered this problem? Is there a way to solve it?
