How Lexicographical sorting is done for image?

How Lexicographical sorting is done for image??plz someone explain this.Thanks in advance :)

I have no idea how sorting can be applied to an image.

Maybe the images are images of characters, like letters and numbers and words, and they want to do OCR on them? That's the only thing I can think of.

is there any inbuilt command for lexicographic sorting of feature vectors in MATLAB, once the feature is extracted from any image????
