how can we normalise the y-axis of histfit so as to represent it like probability density plot?

I need to plot pdf of a time series data. I can do it with f=hist(data,bins) and pdf=f/length(data), but I want to do it with histfit(data), and this doesnt give a normalised y-axis.So how can I continue with this command to get a plot like pdf?
