how to use a summation for values ranging from 0 to 20?what is the proper syntax ?

I have a datasheet with two columns having values, want to use a summation for all those values.can anyone help?

You mean you want sum of all the elements of a datasheet. i.e if its a 2x2 matrix you want sum of all the elements of that matrix ?

Its not a matrix, its a excel sheet with two columns,having numeric values in it.

It is straight forward and an easy job. Read the data from xl file using xlsread. Get the sum using sum.

So far, after 8 comments, all we know is that you have some data and you want to do something with it, which is not sum but a "long equation" and you want to do it the complicated way.
