How do I calculate the space betwween left side of the page and the beginning of the text?Similarly how do I calculate the space betwween ending of the text and right side of the page.

It has to be done using matlab. I need to do margin analysis. This is a small part of my project.

Please look into the ocr function here and also look into related tools in the Computer Vision System Toolbox.
You may not find the exact answer to your question but it provides enough resources to create a workaround for your use.
