Can I access function from a mlapp?

I have a nice function inside of MyMlapp.mlapp I just wonder if I can somehow call that function or if I have to go in and copy the code and place it in an "normal" function (or script).

I was thinking something similar to:

Result = MyMlapp.TheFunctionIWantToCall(variable);
