Focused Time-Delay Neural Network (newfftd)

hi everyone, I am trying to use Focused Time-Delay Neural Network (newfftd) for my project .but I got confused by laser example in matlab's help.it say that code predict one-step ahead but as long as P=T means input = target, how it predict one-step ahead?? please someone help me.
