Problem getting started with matlab (Linux)

I've just bought, downloaded, installed and activated the student edition.
when I launch matlab I get the following response:
MATLAB: error while loading shared libraries: libXp.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
OS- PCLinuxOS (2011 XFCE) on HP Probook 6545b
installation path is: /home/david/matlab/R2011a_Student/bin
I'm new to linux, so any help gratefully received

Many thanks, I've installed libXp.so.6
all good now.
