Attenuation as a function of distance and frequency

Hi, i have a non stationary signal whose frequency varies with time.When i implant that signal in power line, it will experiance an attenuation which depends on frequency as well as distance of propagation. Can anyone tell the relation between the attenuation, frequency and distance i.e, equation of attenuation as a function of frequency and distance travelled
