Difference between bluetooth and serial communication

Hi, I'm wondering what's the benefit of using Instrument toolbox Bluetooth communication while we can have a Bluetooth communication the same as a serial port? I know how to use both of them but can't understand why MATLAB included Bluetooth object in its product?
