Use of fmincon in model predictive control

Hello,
I am working on an optimization problem using some estimated parameters of a nonlinear systems. I would like to optimize the control effort required to estimate the parameters. I am using fmincon for the optimization. I am looking for any related material or example which has used fmincon for the input optimization.?
