Matlab 2013a lagging with El Capitan Upgrade - how to fix this ?

Hello,
I recently upgraded my Mac to el capitan and I have been noticing that the script editor (among other functionalities) have been lagging when I scroll up or down. Anybody else having this problem and how do I correct this ?
